All the things that people have told me to do when panic rises up my spine and burns my neck as it paralyzes the rest of my body:

Focus on your breath

Hug yourself

Call a friend

Take an Ativan

Take a Benedryl

Change environments

Take a cold shower

Reach out

Hold ice

Drink a cold drink

Do yoga

Hold your children

Get under your weighted blanket

Scream in a car

Scream in a pillow

And you know what…

F u c k o f f

My trauma responses need live humans.

Live love.

Live care.

In the moment coregulation.

…because that is what little me needs. What she needed and never got.

It feels like death to panic alone.
