
I mistook
Happiness
For
E N E R G Y
Determination/frustration/anxiousness
Like my entire interscholastic running career:
Anger-fueled
Anxiety-fueled
I needed to run yesterday
My body is functioning like 16 cups of coffee
And it feels chaotic
Out of control
Impulsive
So much energy to do things
don’t bring happiness per se
achieving goals brings joy,
fulfillment and satisfaction
understanding we’re blessed
happiness is not just an action
sometimes we need to do less.
